2018 WWE TLC Predictions

As 2018 winds down, the WWE would love nothing more than to end the year with a great pay per view after posting the lowest weekly ratings in its history.

Now the card on paper doesn’t give much hope, but then again, that is when the WWE puts on their best shows. There are 12 damn matches. TWELVE! Please spare the viewer a little bit. I don’t think Vince McMahon understands how hard it is to watch 10 hours of wrestling a week if you aren’t getting paid for it. It is absolutely exhausting and damn near impossible. Anyways, here are my 2018 Tables, Ladders, and Chairs predictions for each match.

Rey Mysterio vs Randy Orton (Chairs Match):

Yes, in 2018 and we are still getting this match. The build for this has been pretty decent; Randy beat the hell out of Rey on multiple occasions. But this past week on Smackdown, Rey got the upper hand, which leads me to believe Randy is going to come out on top. The feud continues.

WINNER: Randy Orton

Natalya vs Ruby Riott (Tables Match):

First person through the table is declared the winner and Riott is going through that table. This entire feud has been set up through the death of Natalya’s real life father Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart, which always always leads to the babyface (good guy) winning. Although I would love to see Ruby pick up a victory, they’d never allow it in this PG era.

WINNER: Natalya

R-Truth & Carmella vs. Jinder Mahal & Alicia:

This is the finals for the failing WWE Facebook show Mixed Match Challenge. The winners will be given the 30th entry into the Mens and Womens Royal Rumble Match. I think this is quite possibly the worst finals they could have came up with. But they didn’t have a lot to work with because every other performer in the tournament is either injured or in another match. I have not seen a single episode of the Mixed Match Challenge so your guess is as good as mine.

WINNER: R-Truth and Carmella

WWE Cruiserweight Championship -- Buddy Murphy (c) vs. Cedric Alexander:

This should be an absolute sprint of a match. Typically the Cruiserweights don’t get a lot of time on the main roster pay per views and I don’t see that changing here. But these two have put on great matches before and I believe they will do the same here. Murphy was the man who dethroned Cedric just a few months ago to end his reign as champion in a caulking match. I think this one is going to end with a new champion and Cedric will be victorious.

WINNER: Cedric Alexander

Elias vs Bobby Lashley (Ladder Match):

It is odd to see a ladder match without a title on the line, so the WWE hung a guitar instead of a belt over the ring. I assume this means the winner is going to grab the guitar and smash it over the loser. Sign me up for that. Watching someone get smashed with a guitar could be my favorite thing in wrestling. That being said, it is hard to be invested in this story because there is no story here.

Finn Balor vs Drew McIntyre

I will keep this one short, Drew is winning. This man is an absolute star. He is awesome in the ring, he delivers promos flawlessly, and he is HUGE. Look at the man, he is everything and more you want in a top guy, and you can tell Vince loves him.

WINNER: Drew McIntyre

SmackDown Tag Team Championship -- The Bar (c) vs. The Usos vs. New Day:

When you put any combination of these 3 teams in a match, magic happens. With all three, they should be able to take it to another level. If I had to show someone who doesn’t watch wrestling a match I would pick the Usos vs New Day match. Now adding the Bar adds a whole new level of intensity, another tag team with great chemistry. Now that the storyline with The Bar is over, they need to put the belts on someone else and that someone else is…

WINNER: The Usos

Braun Strowman vs. Baron Corbin (TLC match):

If Braun wnis then he get a Universal Title match against Brock Lesnar at some point in the future. If Baron Corbin wins then he becomes the permanent general manager of RAW.  We are still unsure if Braun Strowman is going to be able to compete in this match because he had surgery on his arm just a month ago. The healing process supposedly takes about 6 weeks. But I think they can get around that by having him just walk in, Powerslam Corbin once, and call it a day. That is also what I think is going to happen.

WINNER: Braun Strowman

Intercontinental Championship -- Seth Rollins (c) vs. Dean Ambrose:

What started off as a heated blood feud has quickly turned into a total dud, no surprise to the fans who stuck around for the better part of 2018. It began with Dean Ambrose attacking Seth Rollins the same night Roman Reigns announced he has been living with leukemia. SInce then it has been nothing but Dean saying that the people of every city they do a show “smell.” Yeah it is terrible. However Dean needs to win this feud. It is his first program as a heel (bad guy) and it needs to start with a bang and become the new IC Champion.

WINNER: Dean Ambrose

Raw Women's Championship -- Ronda Rousey (c) vs. Nia Jax:

WWE Raw Women's Champion Ronda Rousey is not losing this match. They are far too high on her and are going to ride her worldwide popularity as long as they can.

WINNER: Ronda Rousey

WWE Championship -- Daniel Bryan (c) vs. AJ Styles:

I think this is going to be match of the night. In my opinion these are the two best in ring performers in the WWE today; and they know how to tell a story better than anyone. They have had multiple matches before, but this is their first pay per view match. That means they are going to bring out the big guns and put on a show for the live crowd. I cannot wait. WWE Champion Daniel Bryan has been great since he turned heel playing the character of a very pissed of vegan-save-the-planet-nut, who tells fans they are the reason the planet is dying. AJ Styles lack of TV appearances has hurt the feud, but this match will deliver. AJ just came off a year long title run so Daniel should be picking up the victory for a change of pace.

WINNER: Daniel Bryan

SmackDown Women's Championship -- Becky Lynch (c) vs. Charlotte Flair vs. Asuka (TLC Match):

This match needs to main event TLC. There is nobody in the entire wrestling world as hot as Smackdown Live Women’s Champion Becky Lynch. You can hear every crowd chanting her name even during segments she isn’t in. She is taking on Charlotte Flair and Asuka who is the second most over women in the company. This could be the match of the night because it’s a TLC. There is going to be carnage everywhere, broken tables, chairs, ladders. This match is going to be so much fun I can’t wait. Now for the sake of a great storyline in the future: Asuka needs to win this match. Then Becky can go on and win the Royal Rumble and challenge Ronda Rousey at Wrestlemania.
