NBA Hit or Miss December 7th, 2018

The NBA season is in full swing and it’s time to be making some money off of these games.

Now I will admit, along with baseball, professional basketball is one of the hardest sports to bet on. There are so many games in a season that there is an “any given night” scenario every day. More than any other sport, NBA players tend to phone in certain nights and it’s hard to determine when that is. But do I let any of this stop me from betting every night on the games? HAHAHA of course not, let's get into these picks...

76ers (-2 ½) @ Pistons:

Great game tonight between two of the top teams in the Eastern conference. 76ers have a top 5 offenses in the league while the Pistons are a top 5 defense. But at the end of the day, I am taking the 76ers in this game. In the past, Joel Embiid has bullied Andre Drummond when the two match up. Embiid averaging 30.0 points per game against Drummond’s 12.0 ppg. Then there’s the match up of Ben Simmons and Blake Griffin. Blake has improved on many aspect of the game including the three ball, while Ben has been very consistent on defense averaging 1.2 steals and 1.1 blocks per game. The real difference maker is going to be Jimmy Butler and whether he takes over the game. Since I think the sixers are going to win, might as well take the points.

Pacers (+1 ½) @ Magic:

Pacers have been shooting the ball very well so far this season, .477 from the field which is good enough for 6th in the league. On the other side of the ball, they make it hard for their opponents, keeping them to .444 which is 7th in the league. The Magic are not a team that full of sure shooters. They like to drive to the basket, which will be tough when Myles Turner, Thaddeus Young , and Domantas Sabonis are filling the paint. I don’t trust Aaron Gordon to play better offenses than these three play defense. I think I like the Pacers to win this game on the road.

Lakers (+1) @ Spurs:

This is my favorite pick of the night. The Spurs have been really bad as of late. They lost 4 of their last 5 games, 3 of those by 30 or more, and they just lost this past Wednesday--to who you might ask? The Los Angeles Lakers. Although it took an amazing 4th quarter performance from Lebron, scoring 20 points, the Spurs still don’t match up well against the Lakers. Lamarcus Aldridge has been showing signs of slowing down and Tyson Chandler has been giving him a tough time. The Lakers offense is just too fast and plays too uptempo for the Spurs to keep up. Lebron James is going to have another great game and is going to lead the Lakers to another win in San Antonio.
