Record: 12-6. Still sitting pretty, my 2 wins to 1 loss ratio is quite unprecedented.
Hawks @ Wizards (-5)
Both teams are having a miserable season thus far, but Washington is just more talented overall. On paper there is no reason the Hawks should be in this game. Trae Young has made a good case to be rookie of the year, but the rest of the team is sad to see. Meanwhile the Wizards still have John Wall, Bradley Beal and Otto Porter. 5 points is not too many when the home team is flat out a more talented basketball team. Honestly the only reason the Wizards record is so bad is because they can’t stand each other.
Heat (-6) @ Cavaliers
SInce Goran Dragic went down to injury, the Miami Heat have been playing with a purpose. Justise Winslow has stepped up to play point guard and the 22 year old has been proving his worth. The same can’t be said for the Cavs. Going into the season they knew they were poised to be one of the worst teams in the league and they have not disappointed. Miami has actually been a better team on the road than the Cavs have been at home. Miami has a 9-7 away record, while the Cavs have a 5-13 home record. Take the Miami Heat.
Thunder (-5.5) @ Lakers
Coming off a game where they blew out the Mavericks, the Thunder take on the Lakers without both Lebron and Rondo. The Lakers are without two huge veteran players that this team was being built behind and now there is no real veteran voice or leader on the court. Meanwhile, Russell Westbrook has been his same old self this season and now he’s in one of those grooves right now. When Westbrook is hot, it’s scary. Paul George has been playing well all season, especially with Westbrook sitting games out due to injury. I don’t see this being much of a game because Lebron is sitting out and the Thunder want to make a big statement.
