NBA Hit or Miss January 9th, 2019

Coming off another 3-0 night, I am absolutely feeling it. So why stop?

Season Record: 18-6

Pacers @ Celtics (-7)

The Pacers are at the end of a road back to back against a talented and well coached Celtics. Having put up 123 points last night, the Pacers will be tired. Add in the flight from Cleveland to Boston and it’s not looking good for the Pacers. The Celtics are one of the best defensive teams in the NBA and against a tired Indiana, they can keep it low-scoring. The home team should win by double digits here. So if you’re thinking of buying more points, go for it. Take the Celtics.

76ers (-3.5) @ Wizards

When these two teams played each other last night, the Sixers won by 17 points at home. Now we are moving down to D.C and it’s the Wizards turn to have home court advantage. In the NBA, home court is usually equal to about 3 points. Last I checked 17-3 equals more than 4. So despite the back to back, I still like Joel Embiid and co. to pull this game out and cover the spread. They have the more youthful roster and play with a more deliberate pace.

Cavaliers @ Pelicans (-14)

The Cavs are coming off a back to back, travelling from Cleveland to New Orleans. It’s a very tough overnight trip for a team that is already at the bottom of the league. Anthony Davis and the rest of the Pelicans should be able to do whatever they want against the Cavs on a normal day. I don’t normally like the spread to be so high, but because of the circumstances, I am going to take the Pelicans to win by more than 14 against a tired and depleted Cavs.
