NFL Divisional Round Hit or Miss

2-1-1 last week on the Wild Card picks. Not terrible, but we can and will do better. Get ready to win some money.

Colts (+5.5) @ Chiefs

Last week the Colts marched into Houston and exposed the Texans. Andrew Luck played a marvelous game and the defense played well under the spotlight. The Chiefs are 1-11 in their last 12 playoffs games and 3-3 in their last 6 games played. That is horrendous. Meanwhile, the Colts have won 10 of their last 11 games. The Colts defense has a better chance of stopping the chiefs offense than the the Chiefs defense has at stopping Andrew Luck. Take the Colts outright.

Final Score: Colts 33 Chiefs 31

Cowboys (+7) @ Rams

The Cowboys have been impressing me every week. The addition of Amari Cooper was a turning point because now Dak has a reliable WR on the outside. The Rams were off to a fantastic start, but slowed down around week 10. Ever since Cooper Kupp went down Jared Goff has lost his security blanket, which is hard for any quarterback. The Dallas front seven has been so good and has the best speed in the league. I think they will be able to keep up with Todd and get to Jared Goff. Second upset of the round, Cowboys outright.

Final Score: Cowboys 28 Rams 24

Chargers @ Patriots (-4)

Weather is calling for 2-5 inches of snow in Foxborough. That’s a major advantage for the Patriots. A Los Angeles team won’t want to play in the snow. Add in back to back weeks of cross country flights and the Chargers have a lot to overcome. Belichick has an extra week to prepare. And the aging Pats should be nice and rested after the bye. Plain and simple, the Pats have the playoff experience that L.A just doesn’t have. Everything except pure talent is telling me to pick the Pats and that is exactly what I'm going to do. Take the Patriots.

Final Score: Patriots 27 Chargers 20

Eagles (+8) @ Saints

This is the hardest game of the week for me. The Saints have not played well since they lost to the Cowboys. They face an Eagles team with a very similar kind of defense. Brees has looked his age lately and I think Sean Peyton might have run his team into the ground from all those blowouts early in the season. That being said, the Saints have a devastating offense and a future hall of famer under center. The Eagles, under Nick Foles, have now won four straight playoff games. That’s unbelievable. So I think this will be close. New Orleans will win, but I am taking Philly to cover the spread.

Final Score: Saints 24 Eagles 20
