Another week of football means another week of beers and bets.
Houston Texans @ Kansas City Chiefs
Spread: Chiefs -4.0
I believe this is going to be the pick of the day. Patrick Mahomes is banged up, and he has not been playing good football over the last 2 games. Since Week 4, he has tossed only 1 touchdown pass and he tweaked his ankle last week against the Colts.
On the other side though, the Texans look amazing on offense. Deshaun Watson threw for 5 touchdowns and 0 interceptions last week, leading Houston to put up 53 points on the Falcons. I think the Chiefs defense is actually somehow worse than the Falcons D, and so I believe the Texans are going to put up at least 40 this week. I like the Texans to hand the Chiefs their second loss of the year, and I absolutely love the over in this game.
Spread: Texans +4.0
O/U: Over 55.0
Winner: Texans +170
Atlanta Falcons @ Arizona Cardinals
Spread: Falcons -2.5
Now I know the Falcons have looked terrible this season, but they still have all the pieces on offense that they need to be great. Despite their record, Matt Ryan is still averaging 330.0 yards per game and has thrown for 11 touchdowns. The problem for Atlanta has been on defense, but lucky for them, the Cardinals D is just as bad.
This Arizona defense is allowing an astronomical 408.0 total yards per game and 270.0 passing yards per game. Especially with no Patrick Peterson for the Cardinals, Matt Ryan and Julio Jones are going to carve up this young team and blow them out of the water. I have no faith in Kyler Murray here, so I am taking the Falcons to win this game and to cover the spread.
Spread: Falcons -2.5
O/U: Under 51.5
Winner: Falcons -135
Dallas Cowboys @ New York Jets
Spread: Cowboys -7.0
Finally, the return of Sam Darnold. Although I think this is still going to be a loss for the Jets, I think the 7 points is going to be too much. Sam Darnold coming back for this Jets offense will be huge partly because the Cowboys simply don’t have enough tape on him to really gameplan. Not to mention, the biggest beneficiary with the return of Darnold is Le'Veon Bell.
Teams have been stacking the box against the Jets every knowing they can’t do anything in the air with Luke Falk at QB, but the Cowboys are very vulnerable on the ground. Aaron Jones of the Packers just rushed for over 100 yards and 4 touchdowns last week, and I feel like Le'Veon will do the same damage, allowing the Jets to use up a lot of the clock and keep this game close. Although I still have the Cowboys winning, I think the Jets cover the 7 point spread.
Spread: Jets +7.0
O/U: Under 44.5
Winner: Cowboys -360
