NBA Hit or Miss February 13th, 2019

We should all appreciate that I have a NBA success rate of 69%... Nice!

Milwaukee Bucks @ Indiana Pacers

Spread: Bucks -3.5

O/U: 220.0

The Indiana Pacers have been playing out of their minds as of late. Currently on a 6 game winning streak, which included blowout wins against the Lakers, Clippers, and Cavaliers. The Bucks would have been on a 8 game winning streak themselves, but they sat Giannis and Mirotic against the Magic on Saturday (I gripe about this all the time when I bet on the Bucks). Anyway, the Bucks are the best rebounding team in the NBA and it really isn’t that close. With all the extra rebounds, the Bucks pile up second chance points on offense and on defense don’t give away any. The Bucks also play the 5th fastest pace in the league. If they can make the Pacers try and keep up, the Bucks will force them into making mistakes. The Bucks have a winning record on the road this season against the spread: 16-10-2.

MY PICKS:

Spread: Bucks -3.5

O/U:  Over 220.0

Winner: Bucks

Houston Rockets @ Minnesota Timberwolves

Spread: Rockets -3.5

O/U: 230.5

James Harden has a sore shoulder, but that hasn’t slowed him down as he looks to extend his streak of 30+ points per game to 31. The Rockets make the most 3 pointers per game (15.5) and the Timberwolves are not a good 3 point shooting team (10.0). The Rockets are playing with the best 2 players on the court in James Harden and Chris Paul; there is no reason to bet against them, especially with a spread this small and against a sub .500 team. Since Chris Paul has returned to the team, Houston reduced its turnovers by two per game. The Rockets should be able to put a lot of pressure on Karl-Anthony Towns and make him have a rough game. He will be able to dominate the boards with Clint Capela still out, but the Wolves just won't be able to keep up on the offensive end and cover. The Rockets are a very safe bet with such a close spread.

MY PICKS:

Spread: Rockets -3.5

O/U: Under 230.5

Winner: Rockets

Golden State Warriors @ Portland Trail Blazers

Spread: Warriors -3.0

O/U: 234.5

Golden State is on the back end of their back to back and will take on the 4th place Blazers. The Warriors may be the only team in the league that I am not worried about betting on on a back to back. They are just flat out the best team of all time and I will never bet against them. The Warriors are undefeated (9-0) when Demarcus Cousins plays in the starting lineup. They are the best shooting team in the league with a 49.3% field goal percentage. The Trail Blazers are middle of the pack, shooting 46.4%. The Warriors are top 10 in every offensive category. First in team assists, eighth in total rebounding, and obviously first in shooting. I just don’t see any way the Blazers keep up unless the Warriors sleep walk throughout the entire thing. I doubt that happens with Cousin in the lineup. He wants to win and win now. This  is the best team I have ever watched. So with a spread this small, I am taking the Warriors to cover the 3 points.

MY PICKS:

Spread: Warriors -3.0

O/U: Under 234.5

Winner: Warriors

Betting mastermind. Didn't have the height or talent for sports but I can talk and pick them like a champ.
