NBA Hit or Miss March 14th, 2019

Grab the fire extinguisher ‘cause I'm on fire! 6 Straight wins baby, let's keep cooking.

Los Angeles Lakers @ Toronto Raptors

Spread: Raptors -10.0

O/U: 231.0

The Lakers are coming off a 16 point win against the Chicago Bulls and are looking to continue against the Raptors. The Lakers are still one of the best shooting teams in the NBA with a 47.5% (6th) field goal percentage. With Brandon Ingram out of the line up, the Lakers will spread the floor a bit more. It’s a recipe Lebron teams of the past have used and it seems to work. Meanwhile, the Raptors have not been looking their best as of late: only winning 6 of their last 10 and suffering a blowout loss to the Cleveland Cavalier. 10 points is just too much for a team with Lebron James, so I am going Lakers to cover.

Spread: Lakers +10.0

O/U: Over 231.0

Winner: Raptors

Oklahoma City Thunder @ Indiana Pacers

Spread: 1.0

OU: 220.5

Both of these teams are aren't living up to their talent as of late. The Pacers are 5-5 in their last 10, while the Thunder are 4-6. The Thunder did play last night against the Brooklyn Nets, winning after a second half comeback. Although I usually don't like taking the team coming off a back to back, I like the Thunder here tonight. Paul George has improved in each game since returning from shoulder soreness, and players of his caliber can dominate any given night. The Thunder are also the 2ns best rebounding team in the NBA with 48.2 rebounds per night, while the Pacers are 24th with just 43.1. On offense, Myles Turner likes to play outside the paint, leaving the Pacers with little offensive rebounding. OKC is the best offensive rebounding team in the league, averaging 12.3 in the league. OKC will win the offensive glass and the game. Thunder to cover and moneyline.

Spread: Thunder +1.0

O/U: Under 220.5

Winner: Thunder

Dallas Mavericks @ Denver Nuggets

Spread: Nuggets -11.0

OU: 220.0

The Mavericks are 1-9 in their last 10 games. They travel to high altitude Denver, which should dampen the young team. The Mavs are a horrendous 6-27 on the road this season, while Denver is 28-6 at home. In the NBA, it’s not often that the best players on both teams are white. It might happen once every leap year. Right now, Nikola Jokic is the best player on the court and should be in the top 3 for MVP votes. Averaging 20 pts, 10 boards, and 7 assists as a center is very impressive. Behind him, the Denver Nuggets are the 2nd best in the league in offensive rebounding (12.2), and will take complete advantage of the Mavs. Nuggets cover this one.

Spread: Nuggets -11

O/U: Under 220.0

Winner: Nuggets
