NBA Hit or Miss March 15th, 2019

All good runs must come to an end, let’s get back on track.

Los Angeles Lakers @ Detroit Pistons

Spread: Pistons -12.0

O/U: 215.5

The Los Angeles Lakers travel to Detroit to take on the Pistons; L.A. is a 12 point underdog. TWELVE!? DOCE!? This is such a large spread for a Lebron James team. He is still having a great season, posting 27 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists. I know the Lakers have not been playing the best basketball, but they should be able to cover against the damn Pistons. L.A. is averaging more rebounds per game than Detroit, despite the Pistons having both Blake Griffin and Andre Drummond. The Lakers are still ranked 6th best in the league in shooting, while the Pistons are the third worst. The Pistons have now lost 2 straight games and I think that tonight will make it 3. Even as a 12 point underdog, I am taking the Lakers.

MY PICKS

Spread: Lakers +12.0

O/U: Over 215.5

Winner: Lakers

Portland Trail Blazers @ New Orleans Pelicans

Spread: Blazers -8.0

O/U: 234.5

I love this pick. The Trail Blazers are going to blow the Pelicans out and embarrass them at home. Anthony Davis has completely checked out, while the Blazers are heating up. Portland have won 2 straight and 7 out of their last 10. They’re the 3rd best rebounding team in the NBA and should eat up the boards against the Brow and Julius Randle. The Blazers are 17-16 against the spread when on the road, and the Blazers are 38-29 overall ATS. The Pelicans are only 34-35-1 against the spread, and I don’t see anyway they are going to cover tonight. I am taking the Blazers to cover with confidence.

New York Knicks @ San Antonio Spurs

Spread: Spurs -13.5

O/U: 215.0

I say this with the least amount of sarcasm… The Knicks don’t know how to play basketball. I watched a Knicks game for the first time all season when they played the Pacers on Tuesday, and for a while I was convinced this was old tape from my 6th grade rec team. The Knicks may be the worst team I have ever seen. This game could be a 20 point spread and I would still bet against the Knicks. They’re currently on a 7 game losing streak with no end in sight. The Spurs are the best 3 point shooting team in the NBA at 39.9%, and are the best coached team. Popovich will not let his team, who are clawing for a playoff spot, lose to the Knicks. Frankly, the Spurs could lead the league in turnovers and I’d still bet against the Knicks. As it happens, the Spurs turn the ball over fewer than any other team in the NBA. So one last time for good measure: bet against the Knicks. The Spurs will cover.

Betting mastermind. Didn't have the height or talent for sports but I can talk and pick them like a champ.
