NBA Fantasy Favorites - March 19, 2019

There’s no better way to recover from a loss than with a resounding win tonight!

Last Lineup’s Best Picks:

Elfrid Payton, New Orleans Pelicans (54 Fantasy Points vs 31.1 FPPG)

Paul Millsap, Denver Nuggets (34.75 Fantasy Points vs 29.2 FPPG)

Jalen Brunson, Dallas Mavericks (26.75 Fantasy Points vs 16.8 FPPG)

Tonight’s Starting Lineup:

PG – Chris Paul, Houston Rockets (DK Salary $7,100, 38.4 FPPG)

CP3 may not be the superstar he once was on the Hornets and the Clippers, but he’s still a massively productive fantasy asset. With a stat line of 15.7 PPG / 4.6 RPG / 8.2 APG / 1.9 STLPG, Paul is one of the reasons why Houston has had such a strong season. Paul’s numbers dipped a bit in the beginning of March after an insane end to February, when he averaged 49.6 FPPG over 4 games. His numbers have rebounded since. CP3 dropped 54.8 Fantasy Points in his last game and is primed to pour it on tonight against a Hawks team that is 24th in OPRK against Point Guards.

SG – Khris Middleton, Milwaukee Bucks (DK Salary $6,700, 33.8 FPPG)

Sulla and I have consistently called Middleton the most underrated #2 option in the NBA, and his fantasy stats back that up. An extremely efficient player, Middleton is averaging 33.8 FPPG on 17.6 PPG / 6.0 RPG / 4.4 APG. His numbers have been on the rise too. Over his last 3 games, Middleton has averaged 39.8 FPPG. Tonight is an especially favorable matchup for him, when the Bucks play a Lakers team that has given up on the season. Before declaring Lonzo Ball and Brandon Ingram out for the season, Los Angeles had already ranked 27th in OPRK against SG/SFs. With the Lakers on the deep decline, expect Middleton to go off tonight at home.

SF – Andrew Wiggins, Minnesota Timberwolves (DK Salary $5,400, 30.3 FPPG)

He may not be living up to the hype of a number 1 overall pick, but Wiggins is having himself a nice season for Minnesota. He struggled a bit as of late due to a thigh injury, but that is good news for fantasy owners because it has slashed his price tag. Golden State may be a challenging opponent, but Minnesota will be playing with a chip on its shoulder in front of its home crowd. Especially with the value of 30.3 FPPG for just $5,400 DK, Wiggins is a risk worth taking.

PF – Marvin Bagley III, Sacramento Kings (DK Salary $5,400, 27.3 FPPG)

As the Kings fight for their lives to make the playoffs, Bagley III has stepped his play up to the next level. In his last game, he dropped 36.8 Fantasy Points in just 21 minutes. Prior to an injury that sidelined him for two weeks, Bagley III scored over 46 Fantasy Points in 4 of his last 5 games! As the Kings look to reintegrate the rookie into their lineup, Bagley III’s minutes and play should increase. With the Kings at home looking to keep their playoff hopes alive, the #2 overall pick should dominate against the Nets, who rank 27th in OPRK against PF/Cs.

C – Karl-Anthony Towns, Minnesota Timberwolves (DK Salary $9,700, 50.5 FPPG)

The nickname “KAT” is misleading for how absolutely dominate the former Kentucky Wildcat is on the basketball court. Having a stellar season thus far, KAT has been absolutely lights-out since February 25. Starting with that game against the Kings, Anthony-Towns has averaged an incredible 59.9 FPPG over 10 games. His dominance shouldn’t be unexpected though, as he is averaging a double-double with 24.6 PPG and 12.2 RPG, not to mention an impressive 1.7 BLKPG. Tonight the Timberwolves are facing a Warriors team that is in the bottom third of the league in OPRK against Centers, which means KAT’s menacing play should continue.

G – D’Angelo Russell, Brooklyn Nets (DK Salary $7,400, 38.1 FPPG)

He’s got ice in his veins! The Nets have been struggling since the All-Star break, but Russell is still playing like Brooklyn’s undisputed leader. In his last 3 games, the former #2 pick is averaging 42.7 FPPG, including a clutch 58.3 Fantasy Points the other night in Los Angeles against the Clippers. Despite his great play, the Nets need Russell to step it up even more if the team wants to make the playoffs. He should be doing just that tonight against a Kings team that is dead last in the NBA in OPRK against PG/SGs.

F – P.J. Tucker, Houston Rockets (DK Salary $4,200, 21.6 FPPG)

A stat line of 7.5 PPG / 6.0 RPG / 1.2 APG / 1.7 STLPG isn’t exactly sexy, but it gets the job done. Tucker is a veteran role player who has helped Houston off the bench. There’s not much to say about Tucker other than his value is very strong: 21.6 FPPG for only $4,200 DK. If this was a stock, it’d be buy Buy BUY, especially as the Rockets take on a Hawks team that is second-to-last in the league in OPRK against SF/PFs.

UTIL – Boban Marjanovic, Philadelphia 76ers (DK Salary $4,100, 16.1 FPPG)

This may be the best pick of the night. Sure 16.1 FPPG doesn’t jump off the page, but when Marjanovic gets minutes, he performs way over his own average. In his last 8 games with 14+ minutes, the big man is averaging a solid 26.3 FPPG, which is worth MUCH more than his $4,100 DK price tag. Tonight, Joel Embiid is out due to injury, meaning that Marjanovic should see an abundance of minutes against a Charlotte team that is 24th in OPRK against Centers. For the value and the potential, Marjanovic is an absolute must have tonight for our fantasy lineup.
