NBA Hit or Miss March 28th, 2019

Let’s get back on the right track.

Dallas Mavericks @ Miami Heat

Spread: Heat -6.0

O/U: 210.5

The Miami Heat are in full playoff push mode after falling to the 9th seed, half a game back of the Orlando Magic. The Heat have a very favorable matchup tonight against the Dallas Mavericks, who are one of the worst road teams this season. The Mavs are 7-30 on the road this year and 2-8 in their past 10 games. The Heat are a top total rebounding team, behind the presence of Hassan Whiteside who grabs 11.5 rebounds per game. The Mavericks are deadlast from the free throw line, shooting 69.2%. The Heat should be able to cover tonight and win this game. Take the Heat.

MY PICKS

Spread: Heat -6.0

O/U: Over 210.5

Winner: Miami Heat

Toronto Raptors @ New York Knicks

Spread: Raptors -11.0

O/U: 218.5

As I’ve been preaching for the past few weeks, I don't care how big the spread is I am taking whatever team is playing the Knicks. The Knicks still don’t know how to play basketball and are up against one of the best teams in the NBA. The Raptors have the 5th best shooting percentage in the league at 47.3%, while the Knicks are dead last with 43.3%. The Raptors are also the third best free throw shooting team in the league, so if the Knicks start to get into foul trouble, the Raptors will not bail them out by missing free throws. Toronto shoots 80.4% from the line. Dennis Smith Jr is injured, so the Knicks are without their best player. The Raptors will have the three best players on the court in Leonard, Lower, and Gasol. Kawaii as usual is having an MVP type season, averaging 27 points and 7.3 rebounds per game. The Raptors are going to blow out the Knicks because that's just what happens to the Knicks. They get blown out every game. Raptors easy.

MY PICKS

Spread: Raptors -11.0

O/U: Under 218.5

Winner: Toronto Raptors

Cleveland Cavaliers @ San Antonio Spurs

Spread: Spurs -12.0

O/U: 218.0

The San Antonio Spurs are one of the best home teams this season with a 29-8 record. The Cavs are the worst road team with a 6-30 record. The Spurs are one of the top shooting teams in the NBA. They have the 2nd best field goal percentage at 47.7%, while the Cavs are near the bottom of the list only shooting 44.3%. From the three point line, the Spurs are the best in the league, averaging an incredible 39.5% as a team. They’re also one of the best coached teams in the NBA under Gregg Popavich. The Spurs turn the ball over only 11.8 times per game (the lowest in the NBA). San Antonio should be able to cover at home.
