The Masters 2019 Recap: He's Back

Tiger Woods completed the greatest redemption story of all time.

This is the greatest moment in Amreican History, therefore the greatest moment of all time. I don’t know who writes the textbooks for high school history classes, but the books need to be rewritten. Every single copy must start and end with “April 14th, 2019 Tiger Woods is officially back!”

Tiger Woods won the 2019 Masters tournament, his first major since 2008. It’s his 15th major win bringing him within 3 majors of Jack Nicklaus. Mark my words, Tiger will break Jack’s record within the next 4 years. Ask any golfer from 1997-2008, once Tiger gets hot, there is no stopping him.

This was by far the best thing I have ever seen as a sports fan. I would put this above the first time I saw the New England Patriots win the Super Bowl. Better than watching the Red Sox break the curse in 2004. Better than the first time I watched an adult film. This actually brought a tear to my eye and a wiggle in my pants.

For a while, it looked like there was no chance for Woods. Francesco Molanari had a steady two stroke lead. For the past year, he has been playing incredibly solid golf. Six holes in, my dad and I look at each other and say “this guy just doesn’t miss”. Even the undeniable GOAT Tom Brady was thinking it...

But then we make our way to hole 12. Par 3 hole and Molinari hit the ball into the water; hope was alive. Tiger, thankfully, was able to stay dry and get his ball on the green. He made par for the whole and started to make up ground.

From then on out, it was all Tiger Woods. Birdie on 13, 15, and 16 to get him to -14. When it was time for 18, all he needed to do was shoot a bogey or better and he would be winning his 5th green jacket.

When Tiger sank the final putt on 18 at Augusta you could see the weight of the world lifted off his shoulders. America has been waiting for this moment for 11 years and it was the greatest ending off all time. What horrible timing for Game of Thrones because. Whatever the finale is, it won’t be as good as this.

When Tiger walked off the green to his family, my heart melted. When he embraced his son Charlie, a smile came across my face that I couldn’t hold back. It was the first time his son got to see him win a major, and it was beautiful. As I am sure everyone has seen by now, there were similarities to his first Masters victory when Tiger hugged his father.

This tweet right here man, it got me right in the feels. This is the greatest side by side picture of all time and if you don’t agree you should be burned with fire.

The icing on the cake came in the Butler Cabin where they present the green jacket. As tradition last year’s winner puts the jacket on this year’s. When Patrick Reed slipped the jacket on Tiger, all was right in the world. This was the ending to Tiger's redemption story, but the beginning of his next chapter of dominance. TIGER IS BACK!
