NBA Hit or Miss April 17th, 2019

I fully expect the Spurs to pay my losses after last night's meltdown.

Indiana Pacers @ Boston Celtics

Spread: Celtics -7.5

O/U: 203.0

Game 1 of the series was one of the most embarrassing performances I have ever seen. The Indiana Pacers only scored 8 points in the third quarter, the lowest total in any quarter ever in a playoff game. Game 2 in Boston is going to be a lot of the same, the Celtics are going to outplay the Pacers in every aspect. Boston has the talent, coaching, and experience advantage. Kyrie Irving had a very solid game scoring 20 points and recording 7 assist, while having a +/- of +20. His presence on the court gives Boston a massive edge every time out. Al Horford and Aron Baynes proved that they are too much for the young bigs of the Pacers and helped the Celtics out rebound them 55 to 43. I expect more of the same tonight as the Celtics are going to win again by double digits. Celtics cover the spread and win the game.

Spread: Celtics -7.5

O/U: Over 203.0

Winner: Boston Celtics

Detroit Pistons @ Milwaukee Bucks

Spread: Bucks -15.0

O/U: 212.0

Blake Griffin will officially be out for the entire first round of the playoffs, leaving the Pistons without their best player. Destroit got destroyed in Game 1, losing by 35 points to Giannis and company. Although I know the Pistons have absolutely no chance at winning this game (or any game this series), I think 15 points is too many. As we saw on Monday night in the Clippers-Warriors game, anything can happen. The Pistons will be able to keep this game within 15 points when it's all said and done. I have no statistics to give you, this is purely a gut feeling. I’m taking the Pistons to cover.

Spread: Pistons +15

O/U: Over 215.0

Winner: Milwaukee Bucks

Utah Jazz @ Houston Rockets

Spread: Rockets -6.5

O/U: 212.5

Houston is the hottest team in all the NBA the past 3 weeks and they are going to continue tonight against the Jazz. The Jazz are a solid team but the Rockets are just a powerhouse. James Harden is playing at an MVP level and is hungry for his first NBA championship. He was just 2 rebounds away from recording a triple double in game 1 and is averaging an astounding 36.1 points per game over the entire season. The first game wasn't even close with the Rockets winning by 32. I see a lot of the same happening tonight. Houston has the playoff experience that Utah just doesn't. Although the Jazz will shoot better than s27% from behind the arc, they still don't have the firepower to keep up with the Rockets. This should be an easy cover and win for Houston.

Spread: Rockets -6.5

O/U: Over 212.5
