NBA Hit or Miss April 3rd, 2019

Winning record for the past 2 days, lets keep this ship cruising!

Chicago Bulls @ Washington Wizards

Spread: Wizards -10.0

O/U: 227.5

The Bulls seem to have given up on the rest of the season, benching everybody who even remotely knows how to shoot a basketball. They have shut down Lauri Markkanen for the rest of the season, Zach Lavine is being sat for a sore thigh, and Otto Porter Jr is out with a strained rotator cuff. The Wizards will be at home tonight and should be able to have their way with a Bulls roster that has not played a lot of minutes together this season. The Wizards are 10th in field goal percentage on the season with a team total of 46.9%, while the Bulls are only 18th shooting 35.2%. The Wizards are also a top 5 in team in assist which means they know how to play as a unit and spread the ball around to keep defenses on their toes. I like the Wizards a lot tonight and think they should be able to win and cover the 10 points.

Spread: Wizards -10.0

O/U: Under 227.5

Winner: Washington Wizards

San Antonio Spurs @ Denver Nuggets

Spread: Nuggets -5.0

O/U: 213.0

The Nuggets are going into the second game in their back to back, following a loss to the Warriors. I usually don’t take the Spurs when they are on the road, but I like them a lot tonight. The Nuggets have lost 2 straight games and will be playing for the second time in as many nights. The Spurs have the second best field goal percentage in the NBA at 47.8%, while also posingt the best three point percentage and the best free throw percentage. When the Spurs get going the can shoot with anyone in the league, and I think they are going to have one of those nights tonight. Plus San Antonio is the best in the NBA at taking care of the ball. They average the fewest turnovers per game at only 11.8. I like the Spurs to cover the 5 points and also hand the Nuggets their third straight loss.

Spread: Spurs +5.0

O/U: Over 213.0

Winner: San Antonio Spurs

Houston Rockets @ Los Angeles Clippers

Spread: Rockets -1.0

O/U: 229.0

Although the Rockets enter the second part of their back to back, I think they are going to pull out this game. The Rockets shot the lights out last night against the Kings, putting up 130 points and winning by 25. They make the most three point shots per game with 15.9 per game, which forces their opponents to try and keep up from deep. Although the Clippers have the second best three point shooting percentage (38.7) per game, they don’t take nearly as many threes. They only make 10 per game and if they want to keep up with the Rockets they will need to hit a lot more. Houston is also a top 10 team in both steals (5.6) and turnovers (12.8 per game). They do a very good job of forcing turnovers, while not making the same mistake themselves. I like the Rockets to win and cover this game on the road.

Spread: Rockets -1.0

O/U: Over 229.0

Winner: Houston Rockets
