MLB Hit or Miss April 30th, 2019

Back on my shit after a long weekend. Let's win some dolla bills y'all.

San Diego Padres @ Atlanta Braves

Starting Pitching: Chris Paddock vs Julio Teheran

O/U: 8.5

The Padres have been over achieving so far this season...and their strange surge will continue tonight. Pitcher Chris Paddock is having a great season thus far with an insane 1.67 ERA. What’s even crazier is Paddock hasn't allowed more than 3 hits in any of his starts this season, which is especially wild considering that is against offensively-talented teams like the Cardinals, Mariners, and Diamondbacks. Again, 3 very good offenses that have been held to nearly 0 hits by Paddock. He should be able to do the same tonight to the Braves. On the flip side, Julio Teheran has already walked 17 batters in less than 32 innings, and if you give any Major League team base runners, they are going to score runs. The Padres should win this one and Teheran’s command struggles should help the over.

O/U: Over 8.5

Winner: Padres -110

Pittsburgh Pirates @ Texas Rangers

Starting Pitching: Jordan Lyles vs Adrian Sampson

O/U: 10.5

The Pirates have been on an atrocious losing streak, dropping 8 straight games. This pick tonight is purely me saying that this streak cannot go on forever and they are due for a win. Like Paddock, Jordan Lyles is another pitcher who has been impressive this season. He currently holds a 2.05 ERA this season and he is going to need his shit tonight because the Rangers average the most runs per game in the Majors. Granted, 27 of their total runs have come in just two games, and outliers like that really mess with the numbers. Even so, Texas has a very good offense. The Pirates have not been able to put things together lately, but tonight will be the night where they turn it around. I am taking the Pirates to win this game in Texas.

O/U: Under 10.5

Winner: Pirates -105

Baltimore Orioles @ Chicago White Sox

Starting Pitching: Andrew Cashner vs Ivan Nova

O/U: 9.0

Here we have possible the most boring game I can imagine: the Orioles against the White Sox. Despite that, I feel like this is an easy win for the Chicago. The White Sox are second in the league in hits per game at 9.1. Meanwhile, Baltimore allows the most hits per game in all of baseball. With those two factors combined, there are going to get a lot of base runners tonight and a lot of chances to score runs. Baltimore’s Andrew Cashner has an ERA over 4, and that is just going to go up tonight against Chicago’s offense. Although I don't think the home crowd means anything wherever the White Sox play, just the fact that they get to sleep in their own beds makes a difference. White Sox take this game and score lots of runs.

O/U: Over 9.0

Winner: White Sox -144

Betting mastermind. Didn't have the height or talent for sports but I can talk and pick them like a champ.
