Another 2-1 night, even after a heartbreaking loss in Boston.
Texas Rangers @ Kansas City Royals
Starting Pitching: Mike Minor vs Jorge Lopez
The Rangers have been one of the most surprising offenses in baseball this season leading the MLB in Runs per game at 5.6. Although on the other side of the coin, they are the worst pitching team in the league as well. The Rangers pitching staff is last in ERA (5.52), WHIP (1.57), K/9 (7.69), and opposing batting average (.278). But they have their best pitcher on the mound tonight in Mike Minor, who is pitching to a 2.68 ERA through his first 53.2 innings pitched. I believe Minor is going to have a great game tonight in Kansas City and he will get enough out of his offense to lead Texas to a big victory.
O/U: Over 9.5
Winners: Rangers -125
Houston Astros @ Detroit Tigers
Starting Pitching: Justin Verlander vs Gregory Soto
Justin Verlander returns to Detroit tonight to take on his former team. I say this all they time, when Verlander is on the mound you need to take the Astros, no if ands or buts. Verlander owns a 6-1 record and a 2.51 ERA in his first 9 starts of the season. Against a Tigers team that only scores 3.5 Runs per game and gets 7.6 Hits per game, this should be a breeze for Verlander. I even have him striking out more than 10 batters in the process. Plus, when you have the best offense in the league behind you, that will always give you an extra confidence boost. The Houston offense is 1st in AVG (.283), OBP (.354) and SLG (.514). The Astros will win easily and will cover the -1.5 spread.
O/U: Under 10.0
Winners: Astros -390
Milwaukee Brewers @ Philadelphia Phillies
Starting Pitching: Gio Gonzalez vs Jake Arrieta
This is a great pitching matchup tonight in the city of brotherly love between Gio Gonzalez and Jake Arrieta. Maybe to the surprise of some, I have Gio having the better performance tonight, as he has been tremendous in his 3 starts this season. Having a 1.69 ERA and 0.94 WHIP is ridiculous, and yet he owns both. Tonight the Brewers also have Ryan Braun back in the lineup, and he adds a much needed big bat behind NL MVP Christian Yelich. In almost all stats these two teams are evenly matched, but I still have the Brewers winning this game and taking Game 3 of the series.
O/U: Under 9.0
Winners: Brewers +102
Betting mastermind. Didn't have the height or talent for sports but I can talk and pick them like a champ.
