MLB Hit or Miss May 16th, 2019

Baseball is just too easy for me.

St. Louis Cardinals @ Atlanta Braves

Starting Pitching: Adam Wainwright vs Julio Teheran

O/U: 10.5

This is one of the most evenly matched games that we have tonight. These two teams are basically even in almost every statistical category in both pitching and hitting. But offensively, the Cardinals just edge out the Braves, and I believe that will be the difference tonight. St Louis gets the 3rd most Hits per game in the league at 8.8 and the 10th most Runs per game with 5.1. Also coming in with the 3rd best batting average at .260, the Cardinals offense is going to prove to be too much for Teheran and the Braves. I'm taking the Cardinals all day.

MY PICKS

O/U: Under 10.5

Winners: Cardinals -102

Baltimore Orioles @ Cleveland Indians

Starting Pitching: Dan Straily vs Trevor Baurer

O/U: 9.0

Although the Indians may not have the best offense this season, Orioles pitcher Dan Straily has been horrible all season. Straily hasn't pitched past the 5th inning all year and has allowed 5 or more runs in 4 of his 7 starts. As a result, he owns an 8+ ERA and has only 15 strikeouts to 12 walks. I don't trust this man at all for Baltimore, and the Indians should have a field day against him. Opposing Straily is Cleveland’s Trevor Baurer, who has been lights out and racking up the strikeouts. 72 Ks in 60 innings is phenomenal, and Baurer should feed on this weak Baltimore lineup that only averages 3.9 runs per game. I'm taking the Indiansto win tonight at home.

MY PICKS

O/U: Under 9.0

Winners: Indians -305

Toronto Blue Jays @ Chicago White Sox

Starting Pitching: Marcus Stroman vs Dylan Covey

O/U: 9.0

Although the Blue Jays haven't exactly been playing well this season, I am taking them tonight in Chi town. This pick is purely based on White Sox starting pitcher Dylan Covey. In 10.2 innings pitched he has a 5.91 ERA and has already walked 10 batters. To be clear, walking 10 batters in 10 innings will not win you ball games, nor will striking out only 5 hitters. On the other side of things, I love Toronto’s Marcus Stroman, who has a 3.12 ERA and 45 Ks in 52 innings pitched. I love this matchup for Stroman against the White Sox and even believe he will shut out Chicago. No doubter, I'm taking the Blue Jays.

MY PICKS

O/U: Under 9.0

Winners: Blue Jays -140

Betting mastermind. Didn't have the height or talent for sports but I can talk and pick them like a champ.
