After a nice long Memorial Day weekend, let’s get some money back in our pockets to pay that bar tab.
Cleveland Indians @ Boston Red Sox
Starting Pitching: Shane Bieber vs Ryan Weber
After an absolutely heartbreaking loss last night to the Indians, the Red Sox will be looking to bounce back tonight. Although Ryan Weber doesn't have a ton of reps so far this season, he has been good when he has gone. He is posting a 1.29 ERA and has struck out 11 batters to walking just 1 in 10 innings. If he can perform anywhere close to these numbers the Sox will be in good shape because they have one of the best offenses in the league. As a team Boston has a .258 batting average which is ranked 5th amongst all teams and 5th in on base percentage at .341. Meanwhile the Indians are statistically one of the worst offensive teams this season only batting .221 (28th) and have only hit 54 home runs (25th). Red Sox will take this game tonight easy and put money on the spread.
O/U: Over 9.0
Winners: Red Sox -110
Chicago Cubs @ Houston Astros
Starting Pitching: Kyle Hendricks vs Wade Miley
Wade Miley has been really impressive all season, not allowing more than 4 runs in any start and still he only did that once. When you have a line up like the Astros and your Pitching doesn't allow runs, you like your chances every night out. Houston has taken the first two games of the series and are looking for the sweep tonight and I think they will do it. The Houston pitching staff is second in the league with a 3.45 ERA and is 1st in opposing teams batting average at .208. Houston also has an incredible 22-7 home record this year while the Cubs have a very pedestrian 12-13 road record. I like the Astros to finish off the sweep tonight but in a close game.
O/U: Over 9.0
Winners: Astros -110
Arizona Diamondbacks vs Colorado Rockies
Starting Pitching: Robbie Ray vs Jeff Hoffman
The Rockies are one of the worst pitchings teams so far this season. As a team they have a 5.03 ERA and allow one of the highest batting averages to opposing teams at .266 (27th). Meanwhile the Dbacks have been one of the better offenses this season being ranked 5th in batting average at .255. With Jeff Hoffman on the mound for the Rockies, I think the Backs are going to have a field day. Hoffman has an 8.10 ERA and I don't see him having a good night. Diamondbacks have a very impressive 17-13 record on the road. Anytime you have a winning record on the road you are the real deal. I am taking Arizona tonight.
O/U: Under 11.0
Winners: Diamondbacks -125
