Another perfect day in the books. We’re just too good at this now.
Miami Marlins @ Chicago Cubs
Starting Pitching: Jose Urena vs Kyle Hendricks
The Marlins are having a terrible year so far, posting a laughable 10-25 record and 2-8 in their last 10. On the other side, Chicago fans couldn’t be happier with the Cubs season who are 20-13 and 8-2 in their last 10. The Cubs are averaging the most runs per game with 5.8 while the Marlins are deadlast with 2.8(2.8 runs per game might be the funniest statistic I have ever seen). With the offensive firepower the Cubs have, Marlins starter Jose Urena is going to have a long night. He has a 5.45 ERA and doesn’t strike many batters out. He only averages around 4 strikeouts per game, so if you are letting this Cubs lineup make contact, you are really in for it. Cubs win tonight and feel confident with the -1.5 spread.
O/U: Over 8.0
Winners: Cubs -245
San Francisco Giants @ Colorado Rockies
Starting Pitching: Derek Holland vs Jon Gray
Neither of these teams are off to a good start this year both with a 16-20 record, but somebody has to win. The Giants are going to have a rough night against the Rockies who are better in every offensive statistic. The worst for SF being on base percentage. The Giants are last with a .282 OBP which explains their 3.8 runs per game average. When you can’t get people on base, you can’t get the run support you need, especially not for Dereck Holland. Holland has a 5.34 ERA this season and has already allowed 7 home runs this season. The Rockies lineup although not producing much this season, is still very scary. I like for Colorado to protect home field and win this game tonight.
O/U: Under 9.5
Winners: Rockies -150
Cincinnati Reds vs Oakland Athletics
Starting Pitching: Sonny Gray vs Brett Anderson
A good old trick I have learned these past two seasons is always bet against Sonny Gray. The Reds have lost 3 of the last 4 games Sonny Gray has started this season. The Reds are one of the worst offensive teams only posting a .212 AVG (29th) and a .290 OBP (26th). There is not a whole lot I can give you on this game, because both these teams are quite bad. This one is more of a gut feeling and me just enjoying betting against Gray. I am taking the Athletics and since I have been on a heater, why not believe me? Take the A’s.
O/U: Over 8.0
Winners: Athletics -115
Betting mastermind. Didn't have the height or talent for sports but I can talk and pick them like a champ.
