MLB Hit or Miss June 5th, 2019

The apocalypse is near, the Marlins defeated the Brewers 16-0.

Atlanta Braves @ Pittsburgh Pirates

Starting Pitching: Kevin Gausman vs Jose Musgrave

O/U: 9.5

The Braves have been one of the most consistent offenses in the league this season. They are currently ranked 6th in team batting average at .259, which also puts them at 8th most in hits per game at 8.9. Although the Pirates are very close in both stats with a .255 BAA (12th) and 9.0 hits (6th), they are consistently unable to drive in those baserunners. They are 23rd in the league in runs per game at 4.2, while the Braves are 9th with 5.1. When the point of the game is to outscore opponents, you won't win many games when you don’t get men across home plate. I’ve got the Braves tonight in Pittsburgh to win this game.

O/U: Over 9.5

Winners: Braves -130

Baltimore Orioles @ Texas Rangers

Starting Pitching: John Means vs Mike Minor

O/U: 9.0

Pretty easy pick here, you have to take the Rangers tonight. With Mike Minor on the mound against the sorry offense of the Orioles, that's just easy pickings. Minor has a 2.74 ERA on the season and has struck out 80 batters in just 75 innings. Minor hasn't allowed more that 3 runs since April 22nd, and I am smelling a shutout here tonight against the horrible O’s. With an offense behind him that averages 5.8 runs per game (2nd in MLB) the Rangers should take this one from Baltimore very easily.

O/U: Over 9.0

Winners: Rangers -180

San Francisco Giants @ New York Mets

Starting Pitching: Tyler Beede vs Jason Vargas

O/U: 8.5

Stop me if you have heard this one before: Jason Vargas has only allowed more than one run once since April 19th. Famously terrible pitcher Jason Vargas has become the only good starting pitcher at Citi Field. Now, there is no telling how long a streak like this can continue, but I predict it goes past tonight. The Mets have lost their last 3 games in terrible fashion, but I think they win this one tonight against the Giants. Take the Mets to the bank, lock of the night.

O/U: Over 8.5

Winners: Mets -145

Betting mastermind. Didn't have the height or talent for sports but I can talk and pick them like a champ.
