MLB Hit or Miss July 30th, 2019

Not the greatest night last night, but tonight I am going to make it up to you.

New York Mets @ Chicago White Sox

Starting Pitching: Noah Syndergaard vs Reynaldo Lopez

O/U: 9.0

Noah Syndergaard is one of those guys who plays better when they have a chip on their shoulder. With all the trade talks surrounding him lately, he may want to step up his game. It isn’t often that the Mets play a worse team than them, so this is unfamiliar territory for New York. The Mets are 30-25 in games they are the favorite in and are currently on a 4 game winning streak. There is no telling how long this hot streak will continue for the Metropolitans, so you might as well strike now while the iron is hot. I am taking the Mets tonight against a very weak White Sox team.

MY PICKS

O/U: Over 9.0

Winners: Mets -150

San Francisco Giants @ Philadelphia Phillies

Starting Pitching: Tyler Beede vs Drew Smyly

O/U: 10.5

The Giants are currently 19-5 in their last 24 games, easily making them the hottest team in the MLB over the last month. They have a very nice matchup tonight in Philly as they face Drew Smyly. In 2019, Smyly has a 7.69 ERA and has allowed 68 hits in just 57.1 innings. I think having the Giants as the underdog tonight is a value everyone needs to jump on right now. For being the hottest team in the league lately, they still haven’t been getting a lot of love. They even have a winning record as a road underdog at 23-21. Sure it may not be the greatest record, but a winning record on the road at any point is very impressive. I am going to have to ride with the Giants while they are playing great baseball, and they should defeat the Phillies tonight.

MY PICKS

O/U: Under 10.5

Winners: Giants +120

Houston Astros @ Cleveland Indians

Starting Pitching: Justin Verlander vs Shane Bieber

O/U: 8.5

Sure fire value pick of the night coming right here. Anytime I see Verlander on the mound, I throw money at the moneyline, and even more so when the line is only -140. Usually when Verlander is on the mound the Astros are favored at -200 or even higher, so this is too juicy to lay off. Yes, they are playing a very good Indians team, but the Astros are still the best team in the league in my eyes. Anytime I can get them at these odd I have to jump. Houston has won 66% of the games in which they are the favorites and 85% of their games coming off a day of rest. So I’m taking the Astros to beat Cleveland on the road tonight.

MY PICKS

O/U: Under 8.5

Winners: Astros -140

Betting mastermind. Didn't have the height or talent for sports but I can talk and pick them like a champ.
