5-1 in the last 2 nights still isn’t good enough for me, let’s try to go perfect tonight.
Tampa Bay Rays @ Boston Red Sox
Starting Pitching: Brendan McKay vs Andrew Cashner
As I have said in the past, it is usually the smart play to take the home team if they are about to get swept at home. The Red Sox have lost 3 straight after the smacking around of the Yankees over the weekend, and it is time for them to get back on track. Boston still has one of the best offenses in the entire league, ranking first in both runs and hits per game. I have the Red Sox beating the Rays at home tonight to avoid the sweep.
O/U: Over 10.5
Winners: Red Sox -120
Toronto Blue Jays @ Baltimore Orioles
Starting Pitching: Trent Thorton vs Asher Wojciechowski
This is pretty much a total shit show of a matchup between the bottom feeders of the AL East. But there must be a winner, and I will ride with the Orioles. Trent Thornton (3-7, 5.45 ERA) has been far from good this season and I don't trust him, not even against Baltimore. Asher on the other hand has looked pretty impressive in his few starts this year. He has a 3.60 ERA and over a 4:1 K:BB ratio. I think Asher is the better pitcher out there tonight, so I am taking the Orioles to beat the Jays at home.
O/U: Under 10.5
Winners: Orioles -115
San Diego Padres @ Los Angeles Dodgers
Starting Pitching: Joey Lucchesi vs Clayton Kershaw
This is the absolute gimme pick of the night in my eyes for sure. Clayton Kershaw on the mound against the very poor Padres offense is just unfair at this point. Kershaw is having yet another season with an ERA under 3.00 and I don't think he is going to give up a single run. Because the line is so high for the Dodgers I am taking the -1.5 spread at -145 just so I can get better value. It is all but a lock, so if I am wrong I should just retire.
O/U: Over 8.0
Winners: Dodgers -220
Betting mastermind. Didn't have the height or talent for sports but I can talk and pick them like a champ.
