MLB Hit or Miss August 12th, 2019

Back from the weekend, which means everyone’s pockets are a bit lighter. I am here to fix that.

Cincinnati Reds @ Washington Nationals

Starting Pitching: Anthony DeSclafani vs Erick Fedde

O/U: 10.5

The Washington Nationals will be hosting the Reds tonight and I think they will pick up the win. The Nationals have been a very solid team all season and have been one of the better home teams all season. Washington owns a 31-25 record at home this year and a 28-17 record as the home favorite. The Reds on the other hand are a very bad road team, only having a 28-40 away record and are 19-30 as the away underdog. I have the Nationals winning tonight with them being the better overall team.

O/U: Over 10.5

Winners: Nationals -105

Arizona Diamondbacks @ Colorado Rockies

Starting Pitching: Merrill Kelly vs Peter Lambert

O/U: 14.0

Both of these teams are amongst the top offenses in the league, making both of them very dangerous on any given night. But the Rockies pitching staff has been so bad that I need to give the edge to the Diamondbacks. Colorado has a team ERA of 5.56 (29th), 1.48 WHIP (29th), and rank dead last in opposing team BAA at .276. I think the Diamondbacks offense will take complete control and embarrass the Rockies in their own stadium tonight to pick up the win.

O/U: Under 14.0

Winners: Diamondbacks +110

Tampa Bay Rays @ San Diego Padres

Starting Pitching: Diego Castillo vs Joey Lucchesi

O/U: 8.0

I don’t exactly know why the Padres are the favorites tonight over the Rays, but I know it shouldn’t be the case. The Rays are one of the best pitching teams in the league while the Padres own one of the worst offenses. The Tampa Bay pitching staff has a combined 3.21 ERA (2nd), 1.16 WHIP (3rd), and have given up the least amount of home runs in the league at 132. So having the Rays as the underdog tonight is crazy to me, and I am jumping on this line tonight. I believe the Rays will beat the Padres in San Diego.

O/U: Under 8.0

Winners: Rays +120
