3-0 to start the week? No surprises here.
Boston Red Sox @ Cleveland Indians
Starting Pitching: Chris Sale vs Mike Clevinger
Although Chris Sale has been very up and down all season long, he looked too good in his last start for me to ignore. Against the Angels, Sale pitched 8.0 scoreless innings, allowing just 2 hits and striking out 13. Whenever you get a game like that out of Chris Sale, your team has the upper hand, and I think he can pull it off tonight. The Indians have been very hot as of late, but the Sox have a top 5 offense in the league that Cleveland will have a hard time keeping up with. I am taking Sale and the Sox to take down the Tribe in their house.
O/U: Over 8.0
Winners: Red Sox -115
Texas Rangers @ Toronto Blue Jays
Starting Pitching: Lance Lynn vs Thomas Pannone
I have to rock with the Rangers tonight because Thomas Pannone is on the mound. Pannone has not been playing well his past few starts, allowing at least 4 runs in 4 of his last 5 games, also in which he never pitched past the 6th inning. The Blue Jays are also in the bottom third of the league in all major offensive categories and record the second-least hits per game. I think with the poor pitching battle it will come down to the stats, and the Rangers very clearly have the better offense. I am riding with the Rangers over the Jays.
O/U: Over 9.5
Winners: Rangers -135
Tampa Bay Rays @ San Diego Padres
Starting Pitching: Brendan McKay vs Eric Lauer
I have to double down on the Rays for the second night in a row. The line is just too good to pass up at -130. The Rays are just far and away the better team and I am surprised the moneyline isn’t closer to -185. Anytime you can get one of the best pitching teams against one of the worst offenses, you’ve gotta go pitching every time. The Padres on base percentage in only .311 which is only 24th in the league, and I don't think they can get enough baserunners to keep up with Tampa. 10/10 I am taking the Rays against the Padres, even in San Diego.
O/U: Over 8.0
Winners: Rays -130
