Tonight we take the cake and eat it too.
Washington Nationals @ Minnesota Twins
Starting Pitching: Patrick Corbin vs Kyle Gibson
I have to ride with the Twins tonight because they have quite possibly the best offense in baseball. They rank first in both runs per game (5.8) and hits per game (9.6), and I think they can do damage against Patrick Corbin. Corbin has been very impressive this season, but when he gives up a few hits in a row, he gets easily flustered. I think the Twins are going to have a big night on offense after a quiet few games. Twins all day baby, and I’m even going in on the spread.
O/U: Over 9.0
Winners: Twins +115
Tampa Bay Rays @ Texas Rangers
Starting Pitching: Brendan McKay vs Kolby Allard
I know I usually say I would never put my money on a pitcher with an ERA over 5.00, but the Rays are just so much better than the Rangers. Tampa Bay probably has the best bullpen in baseball, and if McKay can just get through 5 innings giving up a only run or two, the bullpen can do the rest. As a team, the Rays have the second best runs allowed per game at 4.0 while they score 4.7 of their own on offense. I think the Rays are taking this game on the road tonight and picking up the victory.
O/U: Under 10.0
Winners: Rays -160
Cincinnati Reds @ Seattle Mariners
Starting Pitching: Tyler Mahle vs Justin Dunn
If it wasn't for hitting home runs, the Mariners would score zero runs every game. They rank 29th in team batting average at .238 but have hit the 10th most home runs in the league. Luckily for them, Tyler Mahle is on the mound for Cincinnati. Mahle has allowed an incredible 20 home runs in 21 games pitched, which explains his terrible 4.94 ERA. Given his high home run rate, I think the Mariners can put up runs against a pitcher like this. Even as underdogs, I’m taking the Mariners tonight at home.
O/U: Over 9.0
Winners: Mariners +105
Betting mastermind. Didn't have the height or talent for sports but I can talk and pick them like a champ.
