After a full weekend of football, it’s time to get back to America's past time.
Arizona Diamondbacks @ New York Mets
Starting Pitching: Merrill Kelly vs Jacob deGrom
This is a pretty easy pick right here if you ask me. With deGrom on the mound, I don’t see the D-Backs getting anything going on offense tonight. Although Arizona has been hot as of late, I think this is still the Mets’ game. New York is 37-26 when they are favored in a game, and tonight they are big favorites with their ace on the mound. I am taking the Mets tonight to defeat the Diamondbacks in Queens.
O/U: Over 7.5
Winners: Mets -230
Atlanta Braves @ Philadelphia Phillies
Starting Pitching: Mike Foltynewicz vs Aaron Nola
I like the Phillies to take the game tonight with Aaron Nola on the mound, especially as he looks for a bounce back game from his last start against the Reds. Last game out, Nola allowed 5 runs in 4 innings. However, before that he didn’t allow more than 3 runs in a game since July 28th. The Braves meanwhile have Mike Foltynewicz out there tonight, who has a 5.28 ERA on the year, and there is just no way I can touch that. Although I think the Braves are the better overall team, I can’t go with a pitcher with that bad of an ERA. Give me the Phillies to win at home tonight.
O/U: Under 8.5
Winners: Phillies -130
Chicago Cubs @ San Diego Padres
Starting Pitching: Kyle Hendricks vs Cal Quantrill
I love the Cubs tonight at -150 against the Padres. The Cubs are the much better team, and the fact that the line is so low means I have to jump on it. The Cubs are ranked in the top 10 in team OBP, SLG, OPS, and home runs hit. The Padres are sending Cal Quantrill out there, who has a 4.57 ERA and has only struck out 75 better in 90.2 innings. If you let this Chicago offense get the bat on the ball, you are going to have a long day, and that seems just like what Quantrill is going to do. Gimme the Cubs to beat the Padres in San Diego and to cover the -1.5 spread.
O/U: Over 8.5
Winners: Cubs -150
